My Journey to 1000 Chin-ups and 1000 Dips Per Day – #1

1000 Pic 1

Hi, all.  I am officially on a mission.  As I encourage you on to take control of your health, I believe that it is important for me to demonstrate how I’m doing the same with my health.  With that said, I want you to follow my personal health journey.

  • My ultimate goal is to get to the point that I’m doing 1000 chin-ups and 1000 dips every day (with the exception of one rest day).  Yep, you read right…1000 of each.
  • In addition to this, I will also be focusing on one other health-related goal that pertains to something I’ve been slacking in.  For example, I admit that I’ve been slacking in a major way with my water consumption, so this is my other health goal to work on right now.
  • I will be posting at least once a week on my journey, and each post will include a picture so that you can see the changes as I do this.  This helps to hold me accountable.

I hope my documentation of my journey inspires you to see how you can implement healthy lifestyle changes into your routine, and I hope that it also helps you to understand what it takes to reach your goals.  It takes hard work and perseverance.  That’s one of the things I like about exercising…it really reflects what it means to deal with the hard things in life.  Exercise often involves making yourself uncomfortable, but when you allow yourself to experience that discomfort, it makes you better.   And that’s why it’s worth it.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” – James 1:2-4, NIV

This Week’s Goals

Goal #1:  Perform 100 Chin-ups and Dips each day, with one rest day

Goal #2:  Drink 11 8oz cups of water each day

What I Did This Week

For this week, I will have only one day, since my posts will typically span from Sunday to Saturday.  Because of that, next week’s goals will be the same as this weeks, just so that I can have one full week of doing these before I move on.

Chin-ups:  100

Dips:  100

Water:  8 cups (missed goal by 3 cups)

Weight:  179 lbs (took weight on Saturday night)
