News You Should Know About – Is Alzheimer’s Reversible?

I read an article on CNN.com a few days ago that really shocked me.  That article said that Alzheimer’s Disease might be reversible.

Let me repeat that…Alzheimer’s Disease might be reversible.

For me, this was astonishing to read.  My great-grandfather died of the disease, and I have seen others close to me suffer the ravages of this terrible sickness.

Alzheimer’s Disease in a nutshell causes a gradual loss of memory and brain function until the sufferer is left in a severely debilitated state.  The disease often results in death, and a cure has not been found…perhaps until now, which is why this is so amazing.

But that is not even the best part.

Lifestyle Changes Might Make a Difference

According to the article, Alzheimer’s Disease might be reversible by a series of lifestyle changes.  Not a wonder pill.  Not a surgical intervention…Lifestyle changes.

In other words, Alzheimer’s Disease might be reversible by changes we can make as individuals.  I will not go into the nitty gritty details here, but in short, here are the lifestyle changes that the study used for the patients:

  1. Improving gastrointestinal (GI) health
  2. Fasting strategically between dinner and bedtime, and between dinner and breakfast
  3. Strengthening brain synapses with supplements
  4. Reducing heavy metal toxicity in the body
  5. Cutting out inflammatory foods like grains and sugar
  6. Getting more sleep
  7. Balancing bodily hormones

Now, this news is very new, and as with anything else new, we should take time and allow the facts to come out fully.  However, the fact that 9 out of 10 dementia patients recovered in this study makes me want to leave you with this…

Choose Life Today

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me like everything ends up pointing back to the power of living a healthy lifestyle.  So many modern-day diseases are caused by what we consume, and by not maintaining our bodies correctly.

Whether you believe it or not, much of your health is in your hands.  Every day, when you choose what to eat, what to drink, how to think, when to go to bed, and so on, you make a choice between life and death.  You have the awesome responsibility to choose to embrace disease, or to reject it by choosing the narrow, harder (yet rewarding) path of a healthy lifestyle.

Will you choose life today?
