Sometimes I Wonder Why…

You ever ask yourself any of the following questions?

Why do companies these days take such great lengths to make unhealthy foods sound healthy?

Natural-cut?  Artisan Grilled?  Farm-fresh?  Kettle-cooked?  Come on, man.

Why do we have so many health/fitness books, apps, gadgets and videos, and at the same time our country posses among the highest obesity rate in the world?

Check this out.

Why are food allergy rates steadily increasing so much in children?

My child has a few, even though neither my wife or I have any, or anybody else in our family that we know of.  I’m praying for and believing that she’ll grow out of them.

Why do I see elementary school kids with cell phones?

I honestly wonder who they’re going to call.

Why are we all so, so busy all of the time…barely able to find time for things that matter, like family?

Our culture has traditionally put a high value on busyness, but I’m thinking that constant busyness isn’t really good at all.

Why do we think in today’s world that we’re so much smarter than those who came before us?

It’s always funny to me how science continually proves how right our ancestors were about some of the things they did…things we no longer know how to do.

Why do we put so much value on the intellectual, and shun the spiritual?

I like my fair share of intellectual stimulation, but stuff like believing in God is increasingly seen as naive and unreasonable, and I don’t really agree with that.

Why don’t we grow our own food like our grandparents used to?

Did your grandparents have a garden?  I know at least that mine on my mother’s side did.

Why didn’t we have victory gardens during recent times of conflict like Americans did during World War II?

When I found out how the country banded together to grow gardens, it tripped me out.

Ok, that’s enough for now.  As you see, I think about a lot of different things.  I know, some of it seems random, but have you ever wondered about some of these things?  What other stuff have you wondered about regarding the state of the world today?
