Feelings Will Keep You Unhealthy

being healthy will require getting over your feelings sometimes

Nobody feels like eating right all of the time. I don’t care if you’re The Rock, Lebron, Brady or Simone. You just don’t feel like it all the time.

However, in spite of not feeling like it sometimes, all of the folks I mentioned have an extraordinary level of physical fitness. How is this?

We can make excuses and say that sports and entertainment are their livelihood, and that’s true, but they’re human, and they could easily say “forget it” and keep it moving. I mean, all of these folks are pretty wealthy, I’m sure, and they don’t necessarily have anything else to prove in their sports.

The reason they are so fit, though, is because they know how to rise above their feelings. They don’t always feel like doing what they’re supposed to do, but they have learned to supersede their feelings and get proper rest, eat well, and get in every single workout.

Do not try to omit yourself from this level of discipline. They are tempted by the same foods you are. They want to sit on the couch sometimes, too. But fit, healthy bodies are so important to them that they can turn away from those feelings.

Nobody is asking you and me to become athletes. Even so, is your health important enough to you for you to stop doing right only when you feel like it? Honestly, your health should be that important to you.
